Rick Clark serves as Field CTO, EMEA at Pivotal. A technologist and strategist, Rick has more than 20 years of leadership in Cloud, Open Source, and Linux leadership, under his belt. Rick has advised both industry analysts and governments on the future of cloud computing and datacenter automation.
More than a thought leader, Rick actively built the next generation of technology. He created the number one Cloud Operating System as the first leader of the Ubuntu Server project. Rick led engineering for the Rackspace Cloud, where he co-founded Openstack and served as Project lead and Chief Architect for the first two releases.
Rick was SVP of Cloud Infrastructure at Mastercard, where he developed Mastercard’s Digital Native Architecture helping transform both engineering and operations practices. Rick also served on Mastercard’s Technical Advisory Board, regularly meeting with the leaders of the world’s largest financial institutions to discuss technology and strategy.
